Scripture records seven statements from Jesus on the cross. Often when we think about the cross the focus, ironically, becomes our sin instead of Christ. Reflecting on each of these statements concentrating on what they, first and foremost, reveal about God, A.T. draws the reader to contemplate the mysteries of the Incarnation and Trinity. Reminding the reader that these great doctrines of faith are not explanations, nor are they intended to be practical, but are meant to keep us still in order to create a depth in us.
